Needless to say Marketing issues figure large on the agenda for the majority of businesses and Russell with over 20 years experience of running a successful South West based Marketing and Business Consultancy is ideally placed to offer incisive and relevant advice.

In the current very challenging conditions, businesses really need clear advice to ensure that their marketing plans and efforts are relevant to the economic circumstances while looking ahead to take full advantage of the upturn when it comes.’ comments Russell,’ a big mistake is often to cut back on marketing in a downturn, a panic measure - while in fact the reverse is often the best route forward for stability and renewed growth.’

Crisp Group were quickly conscious of the challenges that the prevailing economic conditions would bring and pre-empted the worsening economic news by running a series of their own ‘Marketing in a downturn’ presentations throughout the autumn of 2008 and have also recently contributed to the ‘Enterprise Biting Back’ event staged by the University of Plymouth.

The ‘Real help, right here, right now’ events, form a series of workshops covering the south west of England, offering essential advice, information and support from a panel of experts on topics ranging from cash flow to marketing.

Business Link are supported in this initiative by the South West RDA and are working with a wide range of partners to stage these events, including Jobcentre Plus, County Councils, District Councils, Chambers of Commerce, Banks etc to offer attendees focused, one-to-one advice on their areas of specialist expertise.
