Leisure East Devon - Giving leisure a clear identity
This week sees the launch of bright new graphic identity for a brand new organisation in the
East Devon area. Leisure East Devon, formerly the Leisure Services department of East Devon District Council is the new organisation tasked with managing and developing a wide range of Leisure & Sports facilities and services throughout the region.
A vital part of the preparation for the launch of the new organisation was the creation of an all encompassing umbrella visual identity to help build a strong brand image that could be applied to everything from letterheads to large scale signage.
In addition the new identity would be both easily recognised and visually stimulating yet work in harmony with existing and new sub-brands.
A tall order - but happily achieved looking at the final results produced by Townsend Studios, the creative wing of Exeter based Crisp Group, the long established Business & Communications Consultancy.
The design project was handled by Townsend’s Creative Director Paul Beardmore, working in close harmony with Mike Hooper, Business Development Manager at Leisure East Devon and his marketing team. Various design options were developed, applied and tested before the final choice was made.
