Crisp Group, the Exeter based Marketing and Communications Company have been working closely, throughout the early summer with one of their major clients Rodda’s, the well known Cornish Clotted Cream brand, to launch an innovative Television Advertising campaign.
This will be Rodda’s first foray into TV advertising and represents part of a larger marketing strategy to raise awareness and retail sales in the UK market. Their debut into TV will initially be in the form of a ‘pilot’ five-week schedule, to be aired in the ITV1 Central region, commencing on Tuesday 1 July. The feedback gained from this focused campaign will help Rodda’s to assess the effectiveness of TV advertising for their products and consider a possible national rollout for the commercials.
The Central ITV area was chosen for the ‘pilot’ as extensive Consumer Research by Crisp Group in 2007 had shown this to be a region with good awareness of the product and potential for sales development.
To create the campaign, Crisp chose to work with Logo Design based in Ermington, South Devon, an advertising and creative agency with a long pedigree in creating exciting and effective advertising campaigns for South West based businesses and organisations.
‘Logo have the right combination of unlimited creativity, long experience and marketing flair’, commented Crisp Senior Consultant John Parker'', we have been impressed with their knowledge and ability – the results are impressive and meet the brief exactly’''.
The final production of the commercials was organised through Plymouth based company Third Man and were filmed in the grounds of the Boconnoc Estate in Cornwall - some of the sequences feature members of the Rodda’s family!
Targeting predominately females (housewives/menu deciders) with spin off for the whole family, the advertisements will lead with the tagline ‘too good for words’, depicting the indulgence and versatility of one of England’s best loved regional foods. The TV adverts, ranging from Rodda’s at the Tennis, Cricket and Picnic to ‘After Lunch’ and ‘After Dinner’, will be shown during programmes including Daily Cooks, Coronation Street, This Morning, Loose Women and the ITV evening and weekend news.
Although not initially to be screened in the West Country, the advertisements will shortly be available to view on Rodda’s Web Site www.roddas.co.uk .
