Globally renowned talent management authority Tod Loofbourrow led the  successful London round-table on “The Future of Talent Management,” hosted by Authoria, the multiple award winning talent management specialists. The event discussed best practice, with case studies illustrating strategy development and implementation of the Authoria solution which encompasses succession planning, incentive management, performance appraisals and salary planning.

Tod Loofbourrow’s experience includes strategy and systems development work for many global companies. The author of numerous books and a speaker at conferences worldwide, he taught at Harvard for eight years and created the university''s first courses on knowledge-based systems and Internet commerce. His work has featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times and countless HR, IT and other journals.   As president and CEO of Authoria, he heads an organisation with offices from California to Bangalore. Its talent management solutions are used by more than 300 client enterprises, representing in excess of seven million employees. These include Black & Decker, Boeing, Chubb, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Prudential.

The event was co-hosted with Russell Crisp, chairman and CEO of the Crisp Group, leading a discussion of on-demand software. Crisp has consulted to leading corporations on business development since the 1980s and now serves as a non-executive director on a number of client boards. During the last ten  years, he has worked extensively in Europe and the USA, helping businesses to re-engineer in line with the internet revolution.

Russell Crisp said:  “Every pound, dollar or euro spent on anything other than core business needs ever closer scrutiny. Companies are increasingly asking how on-demand software — also known as ‘software as a service’ — can enable them to forego the complexity of systems management and focus on core activities.”

Tod Loufbourrow said: “The global war for talent is bringing a growing focus on how software innovations can help organisations to find, maximise and retain precious human capital.  Against this background, HR leaders want to understand more about strategic talent management solutions, the fastest-growing segment of a $3 billion market. With this event, our aim was help them to find some answers.”

Jon Ingham, one of the industries top analysts covering Talent Management in the U.K., attended the Customer Roundtable and posted this review on his blog:  strategic-hcm.blogspot.com/2007/10
