Area of business:
Ulster Weavers – based in Banbridge, one of the traditional centres for quality Irish Linen Ulster Weavers employs up to 300 people across its four production sites in Northern Ireland
Challenge/Task:
Ulster Weavers (Banbridge) is a growing organisation, Zoe McKane – HR manager, decided that new HR practices were necessary to increase the standard of HR within Ulster Weavers. Zoe, already familiar with the practicality and usefulness of P3 – decided to integrate P3 into the new HR structure as a human capital development tool.
Crisp Involvement:Chief Executive: Russell Crisp, Business Development Manager: Bill Allen, Customer Support Manager: Chris Wallwork, working as Crisp Group subsidiary – MCS.
Approach/solution:
The implementation of P3 in Ulster Weavers has been necessary to provide Zoe with the tools she requires in order to facilitate her changes to the HR process. Zoe uses the variety of reports P3 offers in order to drive these changes in the most efficient manner possible.
Process:
Ulster Weavers use P3 as a feedback tool, assisting in the development of management teams by using 360 degree and ‘personal perception’ reports. The environment role adjustment survey is currently used to measure management stress during change and aids Zoe in her HR role to enhance the appraisal function.
In terms of recruitment P3 can find the right fit of candidate - by merging the sciences of personality testing and behavioural interviewing.
Zoe uses P3 to place ‘behaviour-based’ advertisements for candidates who match existing employees behaviour-based skills – e.g. communication and personal advancement. P3 ensures that those suitable for a position apply- by producing advertisement ‘phrases’ that suitable candidates will relate to.
